Privacy Policy
Who we are
AI Weather is a simple weather app with an AI assistant. It is operated by an independent developer. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at jmadrazo7@gmail.com.
Data we process
- Approximate device location. Only if you grant permission, we read your device's approximate (city-level) location to fetch local weather. It is used ephemerally for that request and is never stored on our servers. You can use the app fully without granting location access.
- City names you search. When you search for a city, the name is sent to a geocoding service to find matching places.
- Chat messages. Messages you send to the AI assistant are sent to our backend and processed by Google Gemini to generate answers. They are not used for advertising and are retained only transiently to produce the response.
- Anonymous authentication identifier. The app signs in anonymously with a random identifier so we can apply fair-use limits to the chat feature. It is not linked to your name, email, or any account.
- Crash diagnostics. If the app crashes, technical diagnostics (device model, OS version, stack trace) are sent to Sentry to help us fix bugs.
Weather data
Forecasts, air quality, and geocoding results come from Open-Meteo, an open weather data provider. Requests include the coordinates of the place you're viewing.
No accounts, no sale of data
AI Weather has no user accounts and collects no names, emails, or contact details. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.
Children's privacy
AI Weather is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and the effective date above. Material changes will be highlighted in the app's release notes.
